With the 2019 high school softball season getting underway this week, the Deseret News has compiled capsules for every team in Class 5A.

The region rankings are based on coaches' preseason projections. Every coach was invited to participate and submit information on their team.

There are seven new softball coaches in 5A this year: Jacey Fatongia (Farmington), Stacie Toney (Viewmont), Robert Campos (Highland), Carley Campbell (Alta), Jen Riches (Cottonwood), John Lundstrom (Jordan) and Emerson Tapahe (Provo).

Here's a region-by-region look at all 24 teams in 5A.
