There has been a different state champion in 2A the past four years, and that trend could very well repeat itself unless defending state champion Beaver gets hot over the next two weeks.

Top-ranked Layton Christian heads into the state tournament as the favorite as it owns the best scoring in the state and features four players who average in double figures.

There are multiple teams who could challenge Layton Christian though, led by Region 17 champion Rowland Hall and then Parowan, Beaver, Kanab and Enterprise in Region 18.

In alphabetical order, these are the 16 teams that have qualified for the 2A boys state basketball tournament which gets underway this Friday at Snow College, with the tournament then shifting to Weber State in Ogden the following weekend.
