City of Rosemount

In many of the studies we report on, larger American cities are the focus. However, as we here in the Beehive State know, Utah is a whole lot more than just Salt Lake City and Provo; Texans, on the other hand, would probably agree that Houston, Dallas and San Antonio don't highlight everything Texas has to offer either.

For one thing, major cities historically have the largest income gaps. According to The Brookings Institute, "Large cities remain more unequal by income than the nation overall."

So it would make sense that, in a recent study by NerdWallet, smaller cities came out on top when they measured income equality.

Click through this list for a countdown of the 25 cities in America — including six in Utah — with the most equal distributions of income.
