Week 12 of the college football season has come and gone while producing upsets across the country. With only a couple of weeks left in the season, it's make or break time for teams, if they want to land a bowl game.

In-state teams BYU (7-3) and Utah State (6-4) are bowl eligible by winning the required six games. BYU has already accepted an invitation to play in the Fight Hunger Bowl against a yet-to-be-determined Pac-12 team on Dec. 27, in San Francisco.

According to the national media, BYU's opponent is still up in the air. While many believe BYU will play the Washington Huskies, many things could change. Any of those changes could send USC, Oregon State or Arizona the Cougars' way.

While Utah State is bowl eligible, the Aggies are still unsure where they will be playing in December. Many national pundits have different views on who and where the Aggies will be playing. The two most likely places seem to be Hawaii or San Diego.

Utah (4-6) faces a tough test if it wants to become bowl eligible. The Utes will have to win their remaining two games against fellow Pac-12 teams Colorado and Washington State. Although it will be tough, at least one national prognosticator still believes the Utes will be bowling this year.

Here is a look at where the prognosticators think the local teams are headed and who they will be playing.

Mark Schlabach

Poinsettia Bowl: Utah State vs. Arizona

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington

Brad Edwards

Hawaii Bowl: Utah State vs. Middle Tennessee

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington

Notes: Both Schlabach and Edwards agree that the Cougars will likely be playing the Huskies. If those teams do end up meeting each other, it will showcase Huskies head coach Steve Sarkisian going against his alma mater. Sarkisian played two seasons at quarterback for the Cougars and lead them to a 14-win season as well as to a victory in the 1997 Cotton Bowl.

While Schlabach and Edwards agree where the Cougars will be playing, they disagree on where the Aggies will likely be headed. Schlabach has the Aggies going to San Diego and Edwards has the Aggies playing in Hawaii. Aggie fans won't be complaining about either location because either would be a nice change from Logan this time of year.

Jerry Palm

Poinsettia Bowl: Utah State vs. Buffalo

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington

Notes: The Huskies are a different team when Keith Price isn't playing quarterback. Price, a do-it-all quarterback, was on track to throw for 3,000 yards this season before getting injured in a loss to No. 13 UCLA last week. After X-rays revealed nothing, Price is optimistic he'll be able to play the remaining games as well as the bowl game.

Buffalo, which had its seven-game winning streak snapped last week against Toledo, looks to start another streak as it looks to win the MAC title this year.

Stewart Mandel

Poinsettia Bowl: Utah State vs. Buffalo

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington

Notes: Like other prognosticators, Mandel has the Cougars taking on the Huskies in the Fight Hunger Bowl. The 6-4 Huskies, who started the season on a roll, have since fallen in Pac-12 play.

Mandel likes the Aggies in the Poinsettia Bowl against MAC leader Buffalo. While the Bulls are not a big name in college football, they are putting together quite a season. Of the three losses on the season for the Bulls, two of them came against undefeated No. 3 Ohio State and No. 4 Baylor.

Phil Steele

Full Phil Steele bowl projections

Hawaii Bowl: Utah State vs. Middle Tennessee

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Oregon State

Notes: Last week, BYU was predicted to face either Arizona, USC or Washington. After USC's big win over Stanford last Saturday, things have quickly changed. Many pundits this week have the Cougars taking on the Huskies. However, Steele believes the Cougars will end up facing the Beavers.

Brant Parsons

Hawaii Bowl: Utah State vs. Rice

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington

Notes: Parsons believes the Aggies will be playing on the islands for their bowl game against Rice. Although the Owls are not a big name in college football, they are still putting together a nice season. Rice (7-3, 5-1 Conference USA) has won six out of its last seven games, and look to take the Conference USA title.

Jason Kirk

Fight Hunger Bowl: BYU vs. Washington

Poinsettia Bowl: Utah State vs. Bowling Green

Independence Bowl: Utah vs. Pittsburgh

Notes: Kirk is optimistic when it comes to teams from the state of Utah. He has all three teams going to bowl games. Last week, two prognosticators had the Utes going to a bowl game but this week it's down to one. Kirk believes the Utes will end up in the Independence Bowl — taking a spot from another conference that will not fill all of its bowl spots — against the Pitt Panthers, a team Utah faced in the 2005 Fiesta Bowl.
