Mike Sorensen has covered sports at the Deseret News since 1979. He has covered golf his entire career and nearly every sport you can think of, but for the past 15 years his main beats have been college football and college basketball. He also writes a weekly column that appears on Mondays. Mike has won numerous writing awards both locally and nationally, more than 20 in the past decade alone. He lives in Salt Lake City with his wife, Connie, and they are the parents of four terrific children and have one remarkable grandchild. His father, Parry, was a beloved professor at the University of Utah for more than 40 years.
