Jody is a sports writer who covers the Utah Jazz for the Deseret News (yeah, rough life). He also writes about his fitness/health journey and triathlon exploits in his "Losing It!" column. He has been with the paper since 1995, writing about everything from high school and college sports to Olympic hockey, a weight-lifting great-grandma and seeing the back of Britney Spears' hat at the Sundance Film Festival. Genessy's journalism career began at (you guessed) McDonald's in Taylorsville, where he was an assistant manager and the editor-in-chief of the McD Monthly while attending college in the early 1990s. Since then, Genessy turned down an opportunity to attend Hamburger University (true story), became Sports Editor and Sports Information Director at the Salt Lake Community College, landed a gig with the Deseret News, wrote a few thousand stories, won a few national and local awards his poor family still hears about - and completed an Ironman triathlon, to boot. The Herriman resident - and proud Kearns native - is the father of three adorable children and the husband of one smoking-hot wife, Heather. He served an LDS mission in Switzerland and France from 1990-92, so please pardon his French.

Utah Jazz legends John Stockton and Karl Malone.
