The NBA champion Los Angeles Lakers are "feeling out" the possibility of adding free agent center Moses Malone to their roster, one of Malone's representatives said Friday.

Jeff Austin, an agent of Advantage International, said Lakers General Manager Jerry West talked to Malone's agent Wednesday, but "no numbers were discussed."

Malone, a 14-year veteran who will be 34 next season, was told by the Washington Bullets earlier this week that the team is no longer interested in signing him.
