What Utah County Engineer Clyde Naylor calls "the worst bridge in Utah County" will soon get a face lift, the Utah County Commission decided Wednesday.

The commission granted preliminary authorization to the public works department to make offers to property owners for rights-of-way needed for a new bridge. The rights-of-way also are needed to widen and realign 9600 North near the bridge, which is north of Lehi.Naylor said the bridge has a 5-ton load limit. "Anything heavier than a loaded pickup would have trouble negotiating the bridge," he said.
