A FIRE WEDNESDAY AT A WEST VALLEY HOME CAUSED $40,000 DAMAGE EVEN THOUGH THE BLAZE WAS EXTINGUISHED IN FIVE MINUTES. ONE WEST VALLEY FIREFIGHTER, PHIL LORDS, WAS HOSPITALIZED BRIEFLY AFTER HE GOT DEBRIS IN HIS EYE. TWO WEST VALLEY FIRE ENGINES AND A SALT LAKE COUNTY ENGINE RESPONDED TO THE FIRE AT 3855 S. 32ND WEST. FIREFIGHTERS ARRIVED AT 9:15 P.M. AND FOUND NO ONE IN THE HOUSE. ROBERT HOLDAWAY, THE RENTER, WAS AT WORK WHEN THE FIRE BEGAN.CAUSE OF THE FIRE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
