Willis Robinson, 69, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2003 at the home of his daughter in Payson, UT surrounded by his


He was born to Arthur Henderson and Marietta Applegate Robinson on January 24, 1934 in Cedar City, UT. He married Jackie Claudia Flanigan on June 26, 1952 in St. George, UT. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Lonald, Howard, Floyd, and Robert; sisters Beth Curtis, Joyce Robinson, and Sandra Tattersall; father-in-law Ellsworth Flanigan; and son-in-law C. Roger Woods.

Willis grew up in Parowan, UT except for a brief time in San Francisco, CA during World War II. He graduated from Parowan High School, received an Associate of Science degree from CSU in Cedar City, UT, then later received a Bachelor of Science Degree from USU in Logan, UT.

Willis was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He enjoyed being a home teacher, stake missionary, scout master, teacher, young men's stake president, counselor in bishopric, ward and stake clerk, bishop, and ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple.

Willis taught in junior and senior high schools for 30 years. He loved working with youth. Hunting, camping and hiking were enjoyable outings for him. He loved his family very much and was very supportive of them. He will be greatly missed by his family and all those who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of Taylorsville, UT; his children Laurie (Richard) Earl of Sandy, UT; Brad W. (Rhonda) Robinson of Koosharem, UT; Michon Woods of Taylorsville, UT; and Denelle (Stephen) Pemberton of Payson, UT; brother Mark A. (LaFawn) Robinson of Cedar City, UT; sister Alice Tullis of Parowan, UT; mother-in-law Nellie L. Flanigan;19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 27, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Parowan Fourth Ward Chapel (90 South Main Street). Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 26, 2003 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Southern Utah Mortuary in Parowan, UT or Tuesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in the Parowan Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary (435) 586-4040.
