Playgoers at the 27th annual Utah Shakespearean Festival are treated to a special Greenshow at 7:15 p.m. before the evening's main event to help them get into the spirit of the Renaissance era. The three plays selected for presentation at the Cedar City-based festival this year, "As You Like It," "Othello" and "Cymbeline," will be reviewed by Deseret News theater critic Joe Walker in this Sunday's Entertainment and Arts section to mark the first weekend of the popular summertime event. Besides the Greenshows and the productions, the festival also offers daily pre-show orientation sessions, literary seminars, production seminars and backstage tours. July 14-16, and July 21-23, Cedar City will host the traditional Midsummer Renaissance Faire at the City Park. The festival began June 30 and continues Mondays through Saturdays until Sept. 3.
