Jets, funny cars and top fuelers highlighted a racing show for more than 4,000 race fans Saturday night during Bonneville Raceway's "Night of Fire."
Top jet car honors went to Scott Hammack. His top run of the night was 6.62 seconds through the quarter mile at 250.60 miles per hour on his second pass. Challenger Roger Williams ran in the low 7s at 230 mph.
Sue Spencer turned in her best run of a 6.98 elapse time at 192.65 mph in her funny car. Dale Van Gundy clocked a 6.65 e.t.
Al Westfall had top fuel honors with a final run of 6.45 e.t.
at 207.77. Glenn Pearmain was disqualified on a red light.
Monday the track will feature street stock racing on the oval track. Gates open at 5 p.m., with time trials at 7 p.m. and racing at 8 p.m.
