Bo Jackson, the Kansas City Royals left fielder who has been on the disabled list since June 1, returned to the starting lineup Saturday night.
Jackson was sidelined with a tear in his left hamstring.
"I'm ready to play ball," said Jackson, who was hitting .309 with nine home runs and 30 RBI at the time of his injury. "That's about all I have to say at this time."
Jackson was the designated hitter Saturday night against the Boston Red Sox.
