The ground has been broken for a new business complex in Murray intended to recapture the heritage of colonial America.

Construction on Independence Square has officially begun. A Ground breaking ceremony for the first building, Independence Hall, was held July 1. The $1.5 million building is scheduled to be completed in December and preparations for the second building are under way. When its completed, Independence Square will resemble structures in Colonial America. The historical Bishop's Storehouse and silos will be incorporated into the 22,000 foot structure of the first building, along with a traditional clock tower.

The square will include a park with a Liberty Bell replica as a focal point. Cobblestone paths, a gazebo, fountains and a stream will be also included.
