John B. Stohlton, executive vice president at Brigham Young University, has been named a member of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities' Commission on Tax Policy.

The commission reports to the association's board of directors and recommends policy positions on tax-related issues affecting independent higher education. Members of the commission include independent college presidents, representatives of state associations of independent colleges and experts of tax policy and government relations.The association is a non-profit association founded in 1976 as the national voice of independent higher education. It keeps the public and government informed about the accomplishments and concerns of independent, non-profit colleges and universities in meeting America's educational goals.
