Salt Lake City will host more than 2,000 leaders of the Parent-Teacher Association June 18-21 for the organization's 92nd annual convention.

Among guest speakers will be Gov. Norm Bangerter, columnist Jack Anderson, whose columns appear in the Deseret News, and Olympic figure skating champion Peggy Fleming.The 6.4 million-member organization is the oldest and largest child advocacy group in the United States. In 1987-88, membership increased by a quarter of a million members.

Discussion topics will include psychologically harmful products, hazing, smokeless tabacco, instructional programs for the gifted and talented, child support and the prospective establishment of registers listing child abusers.

The PTA will take a stand on many of these issues, adding their clout to legislation and policy at national and local levels.

Convention headquarters will be the Red Lion Inn, 255 S. West Temple.
