An awards ceremony at the University of Utah at 1 p.m. May 21 will honor students who achieved high scores in the Rocky Mountain Talent Search. The event will be in the Arts and Architecture Building and is co-sponsored by the U. department of special education and the State Office of Education.

The seventh- and eighth-graders scored 450 or above on the math section of the Scholastic Achievement Test and 430 or above on the verbal portion, as well as perfect scores on the test of standard written English. Highest honors will be accorded those who scored 660 math and 600 verbal.Rocky Mountain Talent Search identifies students in Wyoming, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah who are verbally or mathematically gifted.

These students may then be eligible for special classes that challenge their abilities.
