Mountain View High School drama department, under direction of Charles Lynn Frost, won first place sweepstakes honors at the Utah 4A Drama Tournament held April 22-23 in Salt Lake City.

This marks the fourth time the department has taken the state championship. They took it twice while in the 3A division and, now, twice in the 4A division.Mountain View's competition play, "Identity Crisis," by Christopher Durang, also earned the Outstanding Play award, with Camille McKendrick named as outstanding actress for the 4A tournament and Val C. Rowley as outstanding supporting actor.

Of the 30 schools competing in the tournament, Taylorsville High School took second place, followed by Cottonwood, third; Woods Cross, fourth; and Alta, fifth. Students from 30 Utah schools took part in the competition.
