CLOVIS, Calif.— Utah State senior Alyssa Snyder captured the Aggies’ first medal late Thursday night at the 2019 Mountain West Outdoor Track & Field Championships.

Snyder placed third in the women’s 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:52.58, while junior Jose Givens (36:50.60) and senior Tavia Dutson (37:14.78) finished 12th and 17th in the event, respectively, at Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The scheduled finals of the men’s and women’s 10,000-meter run were delayed more than an hour Thursday night due to lightning and inclement weather in the area.

On the men's side, junior J.D. Thorne placed ninth in the 10,000-meter with a time of 31:08.47, while senior James Withers (31:34.43) and junior Sam Clausnitzer (32:01.93) finished 11th and 14th, respectively.
