SALT LAKE CITY — Marie Osmond will reportedly join “The Talk,” replacing Sara Gilbert on the talk show, according to a new report.

TMZ reports that Osmond signed on for “The Talk” and there will be an official announcement on Tuesday.

Osmond, who is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a Utah icon, appeared as a guest host before, talking about the Parkland shooting survivors, TMZ reports.

Yes, but: As Yahoo Lifestyle puts it, "TMZ is TMZ, so take this with a pinch of salt and keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed. But enlisting Osmond would make sense – she's guest-hosted the show recently, and per a source quoted by TMZ, 'when she was on, the ratings spiked.'"

Flashback: According to Yahoo Lifestyle, Osmond previously co-hosted "Donny & Marie," a talk show that was syndicated for two years from 1997 to 1999. She hosted her own show called "Marie" on the Hallmark Channelfrom 2012 to 2013.

Osmond joining “The Talk” comes as she and her brother Donny Osmond end their Las Vegas residency, which I wrote about for the Deseret News. The brother-sister duo announced earlier this year that they planned to end their run at the Flamingo hotel in November.

Context: Gilbert announced in April that she would leave the CBS show.

"I've decided that it's time for me to leave the show. ... I obviously love it here and, like I said, this was extremely difficult," Gilbert said during her announcement, according to Oprah magazine. "Last season I did 'The Conners' and was also producing and I loved it and felt totally empowered but also, if I’m being honest about it, I think my life was slightly out of balance and I wasn’t able to spend as much time with my three kids as I'd like, or time for myself."
