The latest “Fortnite” update, v8.40, released a new metallic structure at the Loot Lake location. Additionally, “runes” have spawned throughout the entire map, according to Fortnite Insider. There’s even a fifth rune at the top of the volcano, which was added to “Fortnite” at the beginning of the current season 8.

Gamers will need to drop their materials into the volcano in order to move through it and activate the new spot.

According to GameSpot, activating the floating runes may initiate the explosion. Some data miners claim that the volcano eruption will send gamers to an in-game spot called the "Nexus."

Fortnite Intel reports that gamers will be sent to the Nexus location where they can vote on one of six different items to bring back to the game.

“Those items are bouncers, drum guns, planes, tactical SMGs, grappler and the Infinity Blade,” according to Fortnite Intel.
