BRIGHAM CITY— A Brigham City man already on the Utah Sex Offender Registry faces new charges after police say he offered two girls $10 to have sex.
Virgil Gene Forsgren, 56, was charged Wednesday in 1st District Court with sexual solicitation of a child, a third-degree felony, and intent to engage in sexual activity for a fee, a class A misdemeanor.
Forsgren was arrested by Brigham City police on Saturday. According to a Box Elder County Jail booking report, Forsgren went to a residence a few blocks from his home and knocked on the door. Two girls who were home alone, one who had just turned 18 and the other 17, answered.Comment on this story
"Upon answering the door Virgil offered them $10 for the two girls to have sexual relations and allow him to watch," according to the report.
When questioned by police, Forsgren "admitted to asking them for sex but stated that he left as soon as they asked him to," the report states.
In 2016, Forsgren was charged with lewdness by a sex offender and lewdness involving a child, but the case was later dismissed after questions were raised about his competency, according to court records.
In 1992, Forsgren was convicted of forcible sexual abuse and sentenced to 1 to 15 years at the Utah State Prison, court records state.
