Children's Day — a yearly observance in Latin America that emphasizes the importance of literacy, family and reading — is celebrated on different dates in several countries. In Mexico, it takes place on April 30. During Hillsdale Elementary's event, Real Salt Lake player Sebastian Saucedo and representatives from the Mexican consul joined students in the dual-language immersion program for the celebration. The consul donated books in Spanish to the students, who presented a mural of artwork they created.
