The 13th annual Nihon Matsuri Japan Festival in Salt Lake City featured a special exhibit, Contest Histories, with art and artifacts from internment camp sites of Japanese Americans during World War II. The collection includes photographs, sculptures, paintings, watercolors, jewelry, cases, nameplates and other handmade items from incarcerated Japanese Americans that are typically seen at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles. The festival also featured crowd favorites like the Once Voice children’s choir, a noodle eating contest, tae kwon do demonstrations and Japanese cuisine and crafts.
