Counselors were on hand Thursday at the school to provide support for those who needed it. Students and faculty said they were shocked to learn about the young woman's death.

"The message is we love and care about every one of our kids and it hurts when you have one it's not a number or statistics … and so we just want our kids to be careful and safe out there," said Scott Rogers, Tooele County School District superintendent.

The 17-year-old girl who was driving the car Littlefield was in, as well as the driver of the other car, were taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered to be life threatening.
