SALT LAKE CITY — Three people were injured when a crash between an RV and a pickup truck sent the motor home into the drive-thru area of a nearby Starbucks on Monday.

The pickup and motor home collided near 2100 S. State about 2:30 p.m. The truck was heading west on 2100 South and was hit while attempting to make a left turn at State Street by the eastbound RV, according to police. Detectives were still investigating Monday afternoon which driver had the right of way.

The impact from the collision sent the RV into the drive-thru area of a nearby Starbucks, but came just short of going into the actual coffee shop. No one in the Starbucks was injured.

Two people inside the RV were injured, including the driver who had to be extricated, according to the Salt Lake City Fire Department. The driver of the pickup was also injured. All three were transported to a local hospital in good to serious conditions.

The traffic light at 2100 S. State was expected to be out for about an hour, according to police.
