A powwow is traditionally a social gathering that features native dancing, singing, food as well as arts and crafts, explained Johnny Kearns, president of the Native Wolverine Association at UVU. The powwow is also an educational opportunity for the campus and community to become involved in celebrating Native American culture. The event was organized by Native Wolverine Association, which works to increase the awareness, acknowledgment and educational support of Native American students on campus.
