ZION NATIONAL PARK — A body found Thursday in Zion National Park belongs to a hiker who went missing earlier this week, officials confirmed.

Rangers believe he fell while hiking the popular Angel's Landing trail.

Pradeep Beryl Solomon, 35, of Salt Lake City, disappeared while visiting the park on Tuesday, park officials said in a statement.

He'd told friends he planned to hike Angel's Landing. His roommate reported him missing Wednesday afternoon and rangers started searching, according to the statement.

Rangers found Solomon's vehicle Wednesday in the visitor center parking lot. On Thursday morning, searchers focused on the base of Angel's Landing. Solomon's body was found "below the north side of the hiking route," officials said.

Early investigation indicates he died from a high elevation fall, the release states.

"Our deepest condolences go out to the Solomon family and friends," said Jeff Bradybaugh, superintendent of Zion National Park. "We are all deeply saddened by this outcome."
