Utah State's golf team continues its 2019 spring season on Friday, April 19, at the BYU-hosted Cougar Classic. The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at the Riverside Country Club in Provo. The tournament will play at par-72 over the 7,142-yard layout.

This year's 15-team field includes Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, Denver, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Northern Colorado, Saint Mary's (CA), San Diego, Southern Utah, Utah State, Utah Valley, Washington and Wyoming.

Utah State last competed in the Cougar Classic in the spring of 2016 as it finished in sixth place with a 2-over 866 (288-291-287).

Scheduled to compete for the Aggies are juniors Hayden Eckert (Buhl, Idaho) and Chase Lansford (Colleyville, Texas), sophomores Colten Cordingley (Rexburg, Idaho) and Andy Hess (Idaho Falls, Idaho), and freshman Cameron Tucker (Ogden, Utah).

During its last tournament, Utah State finished in 18th place at 26-over 890 (293-299-298) at the Wyoming-hosted Cowboy Classic held two weeks ago in Chandler, Ariz. Eckert led USU as he carded a final round of 1-under-par 71 to finish tied for 43rd place at 2-over 218 (74-73-71), which is his best 54-hole score this season. His final round of 1-under 71 was his third round under par this season and the 12th of his career.

Cordingley leads Utah State this season with a stroke average of 73.88 over 17 rounds, while Hess has a stroke average of 73.94 over 17 rounds. Lansford has a stroke average of 74.24 over 17 rounds, followed by Eckert with a stroke average of 74.71 over 17 rounds and Tucker with a stroke average of 75.55 over 11 rounds.
