“He’s also the only hope of salvation for a civilization pushed to the brink of destruction by the Covenant, an unstoppable alliance of alien worlds committed to the destruction of humanity. (No pressure!),” according to Yahoo Entertainment.

Schreiber previously starred on “The Brink,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and currently on “American Gods,” which is on Starz.

Showtime’s official description says “Halo” will be a 10-episode series that will “weave deeply drawn personal stories with action, adventure and a richly imagined vision of the future,” as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.

Kyle Killen (“Awake”) and Steven Kane (“The Last Ship”) will be co-showrunners for “Halo.”
