SALT LAKE CITY — Sundance founder Robert Redford honored actress Glenn Close in a post for Time’s “100 Most Influential People” list.
In his Glenn Close post, Redford said he met Close on the set of “The Natural.”
He wrote that “her character brought light into my character’s life after circumstances had surrounded him with darkness. Her portrayal was beautifully acted, and my admiration for her work only grew with time.”Comment on this story
Redford said Close is “a major talent, an actor who is deeply committed to her craft. She doesn’t play roles as much as she transforms herself into them, never allowing her own personality or celebrity to get in the way.
“Through many years now, I’ve been able to call her a friend and colleague,” he wrote. “She never looks back, and neither do I. I just try to keep up with her — looking forward to her next performance, always.”
Close was named with 16 others in the “artist” category on the list, which included names such as Ariana Grande, Brie Larson, Emilia Clarke and Dwayne Johnson.
Other notable names such as Taylor Swift, Nancy Pelosi and Tiger Woods made the list as well, according to CNN.
