“When Calls the Heart”went on a creative hiatus after Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulliwere accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so their children could be recruits for the University of Southern California.
- “Everybody has really been very, very careful, because it’s a very sensitive time. And it’s very sensitive on, for every side of this thing,” Green said, according to Deadline.
- “Everyone’s like, dotting their i’s and crossing their t’s on the corporate side and it’s, like, every angle you could look at this has had to have been handled very carefully.”
But Greene said the scandal will bring the show together.Comment on this story
- “It’s been a time that I really feel and ... I can really trust that in the long run will really bind everybody together. Like, adversity brings family together,” he said.
- “Everyone’s really pulling together now and doing the very best that they can with what they’ve been given,” he continued.
He said that Alfonso Morenohas had to rewrite many of the stories while keeping the spirit of the show alive. Moreno spoke exclusively with the Deseret News about what it was like to return to the set and prepare to finish the fifth season.
Greene said the cast still supports Loughlin. “We’ve all known Lori for a really long time ... and when someone’s your friend and something happens to them, you don’t stop being their friend. You support, no matter what happens,” Greene said.
