SALT LAKE CITY — Firefighters say a fire has broken out at the famous Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris, according to BBC News.

Officials haven’t identified a cause just yet but, according to BBC News, the fire could be linked to renovation work.

The Catholic Church in France launched an appeal for funds to save the cathedral, which had started to crumble.

The fire comes during the Christian celebration of Holy Week, which represents the lead up to Easter Sunday.

According to BBC News, firefighters are trying to stop the blaze.

President Donald Trump reacted to the fire, as well: "So horrible to watch the massive fire at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris. Perhaps flying water tankers could be used to put it out. Must act quickly!"
