DENVER — Junior righthander Preston Hannay struck out a career-high eight and scattered one run on three hits over seven innings complete to help lead Dixie State to a convincing 10-1 victory over MSU Denver Sunday afternoon at the Legacy Athletic Complex. The win helped the Trailblazers salvage a split of their four-game RMAC road series at MSUD as DSU moved to 25-13 overall, 15-9 in conference play.

The Trailblazer offense gave the righthander all the runs he would need over the first four innings, including a pair of Alec Flemetakis RBI singles in the second and fourth frames, while Tyson Fisher stole home in the fourth to give DSU a 3-0 lead.
Dixie State added an insurance run in the sixth on a Tyler Hollow sacrifice fly, while Hannay kept MSUD off the scoreboard until the seventh, when Roadrunner first baseman Jake Kistaitis spoiled the shutout bid with a one-out solo home run.Comment on this story
