About 5:10 p.m., a motorcycle rider went off the Legacy Parkway and crashed into a power box, said UHP Sgt. Jacob Cox. There were no witnesses to the crash. Cox said a nearby resident heard the crash, looked out the window, "saw a cloud of dust" and called 911.

The rider, Michael Frederickson, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene. Cox said the man did not have a motorcycle endorsement, meaning he had not completed a rider safety course. Based on preliminary investigation, he said speed may also have been a factor.
