SALT LAKE CITY — Lori Loughlin’s daughter Olivia Jade Giannulli is “devastated” by the college admissions scandal that could land her parents in prison, CNN reports.
Giannulli’s parents, Lori Loughlin and Mossimo Giannulli, are accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so their daughters could be recruited by the University of Southern California. They are among 33 parents accused of paying these bribes, according to The Associated Press.
- "Olivia is devastated and completely embarrassed. She feels like she's lost nearly all of her friends because of this. She's barely speaking to her parents," an unnamed source told CNN.
Giannulli — who is known as Olivia Jade on YouTube, where she has amassed more than 1.9 million subscribers — has remained silent on the scandal.
- "Her best friends are doing everything they can, but she doesn't even want to see anyone right now," the unnamed source told CNN. "Olivia has been staying off social media because she's gotten so much hate."
Olivia Jade and her sister Isabella Giannulli are still students at the University of Southern California, which is currently reviewing the cases for each student named in the scandal, which I wrote about for the Deseret News.9 comments on this story
Olivia Jade has seen her personal brand take a tumble since the scandal broke. She lost a partnership with Sephora, which made a bronze palette with her in 2018, which I wrote about for the Deseret News.
Olivia Jade’s trademark application for “Olivia Jade” and “Olivia Jade Beauty” was originally denied by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office due to poor punctuation, as I wrote for the Deseret News.
Yes, but: the office later accepted her application earlier this week, according to my report for the Deseret News.
