LOGAN — Utah State's track and field teams are set to host the annual Aggie Invitational this weekend, Friday and Saturday, April 12-13.

Friday's action will begin at 4 p.m., with the men's hammer throw, to be followed by the women. The first day will conclude at 5 p.m., with the men, and then the women, running the 5,000-meter race.

Saturday will open at 10 a.m. with the men's and women's discus, and field events will end at 1:30 p.m. with the women's and men's triple jump. Track events start at noon with the 3,000-meter steeplechase and will conclude at 3:30 p.m. with the women's and men's 4x400-meter relays.

Senior Cierra Simmons-Mecham leads the Mountain West in the steeplechase with a time of 10:07.84, while senior Brenn Flint is first in the league in the shot put with a toss of 16.44 meters (53-11.25), and is third in the conference in the discus with a heave of 51.79 meters (169-11). Freshmen Jenny Bitner and Sarah Angwin are second and third in the league in the javelin, respectively, with throws of 45.30 meters (148-7) and 42.48 meters (139-4). Freshman Alexis Koetitz is fifth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.81.

On the men's side, senior Carl Jones Jr. is tied for fourth in the league in the 100-meter with a time of 10.73, and freshman Luke Bailey is third in the conference in the 1,500-meter with a time of 3:49.72. Sophomore Tyler Lloyd is fourth in the MW in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.89, and his time of 53.81 in the 400-meter hurdles is second in the league.

Sophomore Stokton Smith and senior Adam Hendrickson are fourth and fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with times of 9:03.62 and 9:06.47, respectively. Freshman Chandler Obray and senior Leaugen Fray are tied for first in the high jump by clearing heights of 2.05 meters (6.875). Fray also leads the conference in the long jump with a height of 7.39 meters (24-3), while junior Kyle Brost is second in the MW in the triple jump, clearing 15.01 meters (49-3).

Junior Kyle Morris leads the conference in both the shot put and javelin with distances of 18.11 meters (59-5) and 68.41 meters (224-5), respectively, while sophomore Josh Barclay is second in the shot put, with a mark of 17.17 meters (56-4). Sophomore Christian Sonnenberg sits fourth in the conference in the discus with a toss of 15.24 meters (50-0).
