SALT LAKE CITY — “When Calls the Heart” will return on May 5.
And, as a twist, the show will air a second brand new episode on May 6 at the same time, according to Krakow. The show will then return to its normal broadcast time of Sunday nights at 6 p.m. MT.
The Hallmark Channel then aired a new clip from the show as a preview of what's to come.
“We can’t wait to welcome you back to Hope Valley,” she said.
“When Calls the Heart” co-creator Brian Bird tweeted about the return, saying the show “not only must go on, but will go on).”1 comment on this story
“Life throws all of us painful curveballs, and the only way to survive is to walk right through them with courage, grace, a forgiving spirit, and most of all, hope,” Bird’s tweeted image said. “Many of you have wondered what the future holds for our cast and crew, and for the citizens of Hope Valley. Your care and concern means the world to us, and the best way we can thank you is to encourage you the way you encourage us … keep your eyes on the horizon because … hope always lives here.”
“When Calls the Heart” went on hiatus in March after one of the show’s stars, Lori Loughlin, was accused of paying $500,000 in bribes so that her daughters could attend the University of Southern California. Hallmark cut ties with Loughlin as a result of the scandal.
