SALT LAKE CITY — One does not simply walk through the Messier 87 galaxy, at least that’s what the universe seems to be telling us this morning.

Event Horizon Project scientists released the very first image of a black hole in documented history Wednesday morning, and social media users have been quick to notice how it kind of looks like the Eye of Sauron from "The Lord of the Rings."

The black hole is a supermassive black hole in the M87 galaxy said to be 6.5 billion times bigger than the Sun, according to Time. Don’t worry — that’s about 55 million light-years away from Earth.

Just don’t go skipping through the wrong galaxy with the One Ring, just to be safe.
