A Colorado man died Saturday, April 6, 2019, after a crash on U.S. 40 in Uintah County, troopers said.

JENSEN, Uintah County — A Colorado man was killed Saturday in a crash in Uintah County, troopers said.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, a Chevy pickup truck being driven west on U.S. 40 in Jensen made a southbound turn onto 4625 East into the path of a Ford Focus about 3:20 p.m.

A passenger in the Ford, Curtis Gray, 71, of Fruita, had to be extricated from the car. He was taken to a local hospital with a suspected broken hip and then flown to Salt Lake City, according to the UHP. He died in the helicopter, troopers said.

The driver of the Ford was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to the UHP.

The driver of the Chevy was taken to a local hospital with injuries that weren't considered life-threatening, troopers said.
