Kudos to Mayor Biskupski and the city council for working to ease the affordable housing crisis.2 comments on this story
The National Low Income Housing Coalition reports that “no state has an adequate supply of homes for its poorest renters,” and says that Utah has housing for only 36 of 100 in this category. Another option being put forth in Congress is to increase the budget for the Housing Choice Vouchers program (Section 8), which currently only assists 25 percent of those who qualify. We can help this to happen by asking those who represent us in Congress to support a $5 billion increase in the for this program that will help over 300,000 qualified families receive vouchers.
Working together by supporting what works, trying new ideas and letting our representatives know housing all Americans matters, we can eventually end homelessness.
