When I see some person who is not even dry behind the ears spout claims that we have but 12 years before the planet is destroyed by global warming, I say "I hope not, because doing what is claimed to be necessary is impossible in that time frame."
Even assuming that our nation could respond to their urging, we are but a part of the whole world, and have no control over the nations of the world. God must be laughing to hear that some puny humans think they can control the conditions on a world which he created and has control over.
It is my opinion that the only thing that will save us is a return to our dependence on God and a return to the Christian principles on which our nation was founded. God has been removed from our schools, our government, and in many cases, from our lives. Mankind will fail in our efforts to bring the elements under control unless we change our ways and serve the God who created us. Our nation is far more likely to fail because of our debt and our choice to ignore the God who put us here than we will because of global warming.10 comments on this story
Locally, here in the Salt Lake area, we have climatic conditions which have been known for a long time. We have always had air quality problems. Yet we have continued to grow and promote business and industry, because the alternative would have been stagnation and poverty. Had we invested in a transit system to support our growth we may have found that new growth would have been prohibitively expensive. Now we must deal with it as best we can. But the winter air here will, unfortunately, probably never be pristine.
