SALT LAKE CITY — A man was arrested after police say he gained access to the Salt Lake City International Airport terminal without an airline ticket and randomly punched a traveler.
Victor Cossio, 42, was arrested for investigation of robbery and assault, according to court documents.
On Saturday, an officer responded to concourse G after several passengers reported an assault.
The officer found Cossio and a man who said Cossio "began punching him for no reason and then took his cellphone and walked away," according to an affidavit filed in 3rd District Court.
According to police, several witnesses and "clear video footage corroborated this story."
The man who Cossio allegedly punched was taken to a hospital and treated for minor injuries, Salt Lake police said.
The Transportation Security Administration released a statement regarding the incident saying Cossio got into the terminal as a result of travel document verification procedures not being "properly followed."7 comments on this story
