SALT LAKE CITY — Cheesecake Factory is giving away $25 in free food to 10,000 people on April 1, and it’s not a joke.

Cheesecake FactoryCEO David Orton said he wanted the company to do “something that is real and meaningful” on April Fools’ Day, rather than a prank, according to Thrillist.

“On a day where most people play pranks and make jokes, we are so pleased to offer 10,000 of our guests something that is real and meaningful,” said David Overton, Founder and CEO of The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated, according to People magazine. “We hope all of our guests will enjoy delivery from DoorDash throughout the week without a delivery fee.”

Cheesecake Factory has teamed up with DoorDash for the promotion. The first 10,000 people who claim a $25 credit to use on delivery from the restaurant will get the free food.

The promotion begins at 4 p.m. ET (2 pm. MT).
