LOGAN — After six practices, Utah State football will hold its first scrimmage of the spring on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium on Saturday, March 30, at approximately 11 a.m.
The scrimmage, which will conclude Utah State's second week of spring drills, is open to the public.
First-year head coach Gary Andersen will run his team through a roughly 80-play scrimmage and is looking forward to watching his players compete in a live setting.
“As a staff, we are always looking for competition and physicality when the situation presents itself, and tomorrow’s scrimmage is another opportunity for our team to grow and improve collectively and individually. At the end of the day, we are looking for execution and a great day of competition,” said Andersen.
The Aggies will be put in various situations during the scrimmage, including drive-it and red zone series, which will include both live and thud scenarios. There will also be special teams work scripted during the day.
Utah State will continue its spring schedule next week with three practices, including one that is open to the public on Thursday, April 4, from 2:15-4:30 p.m.
During the five-week period, the Aggies will participate in 15 spring practice sessions, culminating with their annual Blue vs. White Spring Game on Saturday, April 13, on Merlin Olsen Field at Maverik Stadium at noon.Comment on this story
