SALT LAKE CITY — Utah football’s annual coaches clinic is set for Saturday. It’s open for high school coaches and others interested in learning more about the game.

Registration can be done online at camps.jumpforward.com/utahfootballcamps or on Saturday from 7-8 a.m. at the Eccles Football Center (580 S. Guardsman Way). The clinic runs 7 a.m.-4 p.m., and includes instruction, a Utah football scrimmage and “Mental Toughness Training” by Nicole Detling. Former Ute and longtime NFL star Steve Smith Sr. is the special guest speaker.

“Steve’s awesome. He’s been a great ambassador for our program though the years, a great backer of our program,” said Utah coach Kyle Whittingham. “He’s donated a lot to what we’re doing here, and he’s a Ute. He’s all in. He’s a guy we have great relationship with and I think he really enjoyed his time here and feels good about what’s going on.”
