SALT LAKE CITY — Apple announced a new video game subscription mode called Apple Arcade on Monday.

  • The new service allows gamers to play video games all through one service, sort of like the Xbox Game Pass from Microsoft.
  • TheApple Arcade service will launch with more than 100 exclusive games from studios including Annapurna Interactive, Bossa Studios, Cartoon Network, Finji, Giant Squid, Klei Entertainment, Konami, LEGO, Mistwalker Corporation, SEGA, Snowman, ustwo games and so many others, according to Press Start.
  • Apple Arcade will be available for Mac, iPhone, iPad and Apple TVs. The product will be available in more than 150 countries as well.

No price was announced for the product.

Games: Apple Arcade won’t allow you to stream games from iOS devices. It’s basically a subscription service for titles that can be downloaded and installed from the App Store, according to The Verge.

The games will be exclusive to the App Store and only available through the App Store.

  • “Games will be downloaded and played straight from the App Store, and subscribers will be able to try games whenever they want and resume them across devices. All game features, content, and future updates will be included, and there will be no ads shown within the games,” The Verge reports.
