Iowa State’s Cael Sanderson became the first Utahn and NCAA freshman to win a national individual wrestling title.

Sanderson, who finished the season with a perfect 38-0 record, won the 184-pound title while leading the Cyclones to a fourth-place finish.

He was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler.
