SALT LAKE CITY — You’re lying on the couch. You know it’s late, but you’re afraid to find out just how late. The remote is somewhere, maybe on the floor or maybe in between the cushions. You haven’t needed it because, thankfully, the episodes autoplay one after another.

And then it happens. The screen goes black and Netflix asks, “Are you still watching?”

Reality sets in. You ask yourself, “Wait, am I?”
