LOGAN — Utah State's men's golf team will begin its 2019 spring season on Monday, Feb. 11, at the 15th annual Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational hosted by Southern Utah University. The two-day tournament will be held at the Sunbrook Golf Club in St. George, Utah.

The 36-hole tournament will be contested over the Point and Black Rock nines. The tournament will play at par-72 over the 6,900-yard layout.

This year's 11-team field includes Creighton, Fairleigh Dickinson, Middle Tennessee, Northern Colorado, South Dakota State, Stetson, Utah State, Utah Valley, Weber State, Western Illinois and host Southern Utah.

Scheduled to compete for the Aggies are juniors Hayden Eckert (Buhl, Idaho) and Chase Lansford (Colleyville, Texas), sophomores Colten Cordingley (Rexburg, Idaho) and Andy Hess (Idaho Falls, Idaho) and freshman Cameron Tucker (Ogden, Utah).

During its fall season, Utah State played in four tournaments with its best finish coming at the Cal State Northridge-hosted Bill Cullum Invitational as the Aggies placed fifth out of 17 teams with a 2-over 866 (296-287-283).

Cordingley led Utah State during the fall season as he had a stroke average of 73.00 over 12 rounds, which included a trio of top-13 placings, including tying for eighth at the Bill Cullum Invitational with a 3-under 213 (71-72-70). Hess averaged a 74.25 over 12 fall rounds, highlighted by a tie for 17th at the Bill Cullum Invitational with an even par 216 (76-70-70). Lansford had a fall stroke average of 74.50 over 12 rounds, while Eckert had a fall stroke average of 75.17 over 12 rounds and Tucker averaged a 76.17 over six rounds during the fall.

For his career, Lansford has a stroke average of 73.94 over 63 rounds, which includes 15 rounds under par, seven rounds in the 60s and five finishes under par. Cordingley also has a career stroke average of 73.94 over 32 rounds, with seven rounds under par and two rounds in the 60s, to go along with four under-par finishes during his career. Eckert has a career stroke average of 74.91 over 57 rounds, which includes 11 rounds under par and four rounds in the 60s, while posting three finishes under par. And Hess has a career stroke average of 75.02 over 35 rounds, which includes eight rounds under par and two rounds in the 60s, while adding one career finish under par.

Last year, Utah State finished second at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational with a 2-under 574 (282-292). Individually, Lansford finished in third place at 5-under 139 (64-75), Eckert tied for fifth at 1-under 143 (71-72), Hess finished 24th at 6-over 150 (74-76) and Cordingley tied for 25th at 7-over 151 (73-78).

Utah State also finished second at the 2017 Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invitational with a 7-under 569 (285-284). Individually, Lansford tied for fifth place at 5-under 139 (71-68) and Eckert tied for 20th at 1-over 145 (75-70).
